My memories of Candy are many. One that sticks out in my mind is when she or Amy one, was driving us to town, for what I don't remember. But, we were in a van and she had a whole slew of us. The van broke down on Kibler Hwy. and all of us little ones were freaking out. Candy sat there thinking for a bit and finally looked back at us and said, "Ya'll, shut up! Shut up and pray!" We did and finally Candy decided that we all needed to walk to the house just up the road to call Uncle Eddie. It all lasted only about thirty minutes, but seemed like hours. But, Candy's wisdom in her young years even pointed toward knowing that God would help us if we just prayed. I've thought about that often since we lost Candy. Her words are still ringing in my ears. She knew, even then, what we all needed. I love you all, so very much. Thank you, Aunt Darlene for bringing that wonderful soul into our lives to love. She was just the most beautiful creature who gave back exactly what she was given, whether it be love and compassion or a good argument. She will always be in our hearts and our wonderful memories.
