Condolence From: Tim Mccaslin
Condolence: sad to find that Mr. Grizzle has passed. I didn't find out until febuary 12th. while walking in woodlawn memorial park I came across his resting place and couldn't believe it had happened. I knew him from the races and tire shop. what I appreciated about him was he'd always ask myself how is it going and would chat a bit. as a man of his prestige being interested in how an insignificant person such as I was,I thought that was nice. God Bless Jim

Condolence: I have known "Bo" for over 60 years. He was a one-of-a-kind guy and that's what made him so much fun. His football team-mates at the U of A probably have more stories to tell than I do, but in recent years we were happy to have "Bo" or "Griz" as some of his friends call him, down to our duck club in Monroe County. We had a lot of fun and my son Robert called a bunch of ducks in, but listening to "Bo" and his funny stories was the highlight of the trip. We hope he has a good time in heaven and keeps God laughing.

Condolence From: Paul "Dudley Jr." Porter
Condolence: I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Jim Grizzle's passing. I was having dinner at a local restaurant recently and Mr. and Mrs Grizzle were at the table next to ours. He was such a likable soul! Anytime I would see him, he would start telling stories of my dad, Paul Dudley, Lance Alworth and many other former Razorback Players. It was always a pleasure to see how much he loved his FAMILY, the University of Arkansas and RAZORBACK FOOTBALL!!!
My Heart and Prayers go out to the Grizzle Family and all his Razorback Teammates!

Sincerely,

Paul Porter

Condolence: A legendary icon, the very best which I can describe Jim.......a people person, just a great guy and genuine businessman. I enjoyed the lunches we shared at the track, where the four horse was always the one to watch.....I'll miss you Big Jim, as I always looked at you like a father figure. I appreciate our friendship, and I'll see you someday on God's football field. Rest in peace Big Jim!

Condolence: Jim left a lasting legacy in all our hearts and a footprint in Fort Smith and the State of Arkansas. Our hearts mourn his loss and our souls long to be reunited as family. It is an honor to both share the Grizzle blood line and being part of the family of God. Jim will be remembered by all in different ways (as a strong business man, husband, friend, family member), but most important as a Godly man. Family, friends, and love ones will all be in our prayers through this difficult time. We look forward to a day we will all spend an eternity together with our creator. We will walk on streets of gold and live in everlasting peace with our savior, Jesus Christ, and our loved ones who have gone on before us. This is the everlasting hope we have in Christ.

May God Bless each of you and give you strength during this time.

Condolence: Oh, Jimmy, Jim-Bo, Jim.....I cannot believe that you are gone! You were such a super-star at FSSH and college; such a pillar of and in our community, such a great friend and great guy... it seems impossible that anyone like you: Bigger Than Life itself, could close your eyes and join Forever. So many memories.... Pat, I can't tell you how sorry I am and send my deepest sympathy to you, Laura, Brian and the grandkids. So many great memories of Bo that I couldn't begin to list them. I thought my biggest, fondest Razorback memory would be the redesigning and decorating of the Lettermen's Club back in the 1980's. What a privilege and honor to get to know and work with Frank, Wilson, Sonny, Eddie and all the other greats that helped make that project so wildly successful. But I think the biggest and greatest memory would be the Arkansas Razorback Reunion for "Broyles Early Bunch" that Rosemary (Moody), Carita (Alberty) and I organized and put together. What a great soiree that turned out to be and we couldn't have done it, of course, without you and Jim doing all you could, as well! I'll never forget his unbridled enthusiasm at every turn...constantly calling me: "Lee, what else can I do, tell me, tell me, tell me - just tell me and I'll do it?" And of all the guys that attended, famous and not so much, NO body had more fun the whole week than Bo did. Except maybe me and Switzer! Just watching Jim have such a great time made all those months of planning and work worth every minute. What wonderful memories I have of that whole project! Kenny, you are so right, NOBODY in the world could tell a story like Jimmy did, nor enjoy it as much as he did, except, again, probably you and me. Nobody could be more serious at times, but wow, I can't tell you how many times he has given me some of my biggest laughs! And Bruce, I can just hear his: "Who's stupid idea was this?!" I am so sorry I will probably not be able to attend your service tomorrow but half the town will be there, my friend, count on that, so there probably won't be room for me anyway but I WILL be there in spirit and prayer. SO Jimmie! Oh, gosh, my dear friend, you are one man I will truly miss. Knowing that ALL the people who love you will never again see your mischievous, sparkling, dancing eyes, watch you throw your head back and hear your hearty laugh, will be very sad for me. This town and its people have lost a very bright candle and all of us who knew him will greatly miss his light. My deepest sympathies go out to everyone who knew him and will miss him. And Pat, I'm so very, very, very sorry. Please let me know if there's anything I can ever do for you. You have always been, all these years, and I will always consider you to be my friend..... Condolence: Jim was truly one of a kind. Sincere condolences to all the family. High school was much more fun because of him! He could light up a room, a school, a stadium...heck, a whole state. He will be missed by many people. Liz Mitchell Burrell, Class of 1960
