Four years and I miss you dearly. I have many happy, childhood memories but for this story, I choose one that elevated my old man to hero status. If you read this, you probably knew him personally and I hope it makes you smile. At 15 years old, I was on the receiving end of a pretty violent beating from some grown men. I wasn't even out of hospital and my old man was on the prowl :) It took some time to find them but Dad had resources. A couple of 40 year olds and some younger toughs unkindly repaid the favor. I remember meeting a few of you after and appreciate your willingness to ensure they experienced more than what I experienced. This moment solidified how much my Dad cared for us and what he would do to protect us. You've always been a hero to me but that summer you definitely proved it. Tonight, you and I drink Ancient Age and reminisce. I love you, I miss you, and I think of you always. Rest in peace
