Evelyn Joan Nichols Johnson, 88, of Fort Smith, Arkansas departed this life on Sunday, October 28, 2018 in a local nursing home. Evelyn was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas and was a graduate of Fort Smith High School class of 1948. She was retired from City National Bank, was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church and participated in the activities of the Southside Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Benjamin Johnson, her son, Benjamin Johnson III and a grandson, Ben Johnson IV.
Funeral services are 1:00PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lewis of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Darin Johnson of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren, Tricia Klitz, Ericka Rhodes, Juli Brooks, Sean, Preston and Brandon Johnson and Kerrie Lewis and eleven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
