Thelma E. Chronister, 89 of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in a local nursing home. She was self-employed for many years owning a specialty retail shop in Fort Smith. In later years she worked as a cashier at CV’s Grocery Store in Van Buren before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Key and Clishon Chronister.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Key of Kennewick, Washington, Dennis Key of Van Buren; one brother, Harvey Bollinger of Cameron, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Tamara Flores of Sherman, Texas, Lisa McNeill of Carrollton, Texas and Michael Downey of Kennewick, Washington, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
