Obituary for William Joseph Hatfield

William Joseph  Hatfield
Bill “Scooter” Hatfield 68 of Van Buren passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 in a local nursing home. He was retired Deputy Sheriff for Muskogee County Sheriff’s Dept.; a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of the Bedouin Shriners and 32nd Degree Mason all in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a member of Christian Chapel Church in Muskogee, Ok. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son; his parents; a sister and a brother.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM Thursday, May 7, 2015 at U.S. National Cemetery Pavilion with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife of twenty six years Doris (Palmer) Hatfield of the home; three sons, Chris Hatfield and Paul Adair, Jr. both of Van Buren, Justin Adair of Shamrock, OK; Six Grandchildren and numerous nephews.

A special thanks to all family and friends that visited him and to all of the employees, nurses & aides that took care of him.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren.
