I had the honor of working with Melba many years ago at Peoples Warehouse Market.  Melba always had a line of shoppers waiting in her check-out line because they trusted her and because of the special care she took with each one.  She always made sure that the customer's bread didn't get smashed and that their eggs we on top of the grocery sack so they wouldn't get broken.  She was a soft-spoken lady who took pride in her work.  As a young teen grocery sacker, I learned a lot from Melba about how to treat a customer and that the customer was "always right."  What I learned from her example has served me well in public service and in transportation sales.  Melba, thank you for being a positive influence in my life.  I know you will be dearly missed by your family.
