Dorothy Louise Johnston, 95, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in a Barling nursing home. She was born on May 16, 1921 to Wallace B. and Ester (Hodgen) Lacy in Booneville, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, a member of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church for 67 years and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Johnston, a sister, Norma Treadway, a brother, Sherman Lacy and a great grandchild, Owen Johnston.
Graveside services are 11:00AM, Friday, October 28, 2016 at the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by her two sons, David Johnston and his wife Judy and Gary Johnston and his wife Cindy both of Fort Smith, AR; one sister, Frances Michaels of Fort Smith, AR; four grandchildren, Aaron Johnston of Fort Smith, AR, Neil Johnston and his wife Nikki of Fort Smith, AR, Cananda Flocks of Jenks, OK and Nikki Lee-McNew and her husband Rob of Fort Smith, AR and ten great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are David, Gary, Neil and Aaron Johnston, Rob McNew and Payton Flocks.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Thursday, October 27th at the funeral home.
