Marie Blackard, 69, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in her home. She was a former housekeeper for New Haven Lodge and a member of Kibler Baptist Church. She was born August 26, 1946 in Mulberry, Arkansas to the late Ernest and Lenora (Arnold) Berna and also preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Amonette and Tina Robbins.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in Morse Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Blackard of the home; one daughter, Lori Hobson and husband Michael of Van Buren, AR; one son, Edward Blackard and wife Laura of Van Buren, AR; one sister, Shirley Ingram and husband Richard of Ozark, AR; one brother, Rickie Earn Berna of AR; 9 grandchildren, Kasey, Zach, Bradlee, Kaytleigh, Relica, Damion, Gauge, Kaitlin and Brooklynn and 1 great grandchild, Aubree.
Pallbearers will be Edward Blackard, Michael Hobson, Richard Ingram, Paul Zollicoffer, James Harris and Aaron Durant.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Danny Dunn.
