Obituary for Harry Edwin Graham

Harry Edwin  Graham
Mr. Harry Edwin “Ted” Graham, 87, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in a local hospital. He was born on July 25, 1928 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clifford Graham. Harry started out his military career in the U.S. Maritime, followed by U.S. Coast Guard, Pennsylvania National Guard. Harry joined the U.S. Army, retired in grade SSG E6 after 20 years of service. He was a disabled Vietnam Veteran and received the Bronze Star. Mr. Graham was a graduate of Southern Methodist University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He was member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Fort Smith Chapter of the Arkansas Retired Military Association, a 32 degree Mason a Shriner and a member of Goddard United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Billy Graham of New Castle, Pennsylvania and James “Jim” Graham of Garland, Texas and one sister, Mary Jane Worthy of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Harry was an avid reader of current military news, world and community events. He was a very generous provider for his family, loved all our family pets, especially his kitty, “Hardee Boy”. We as a family had his love and we in turn love him dearly.
Funeral services will be 1:00PM; Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Goddard United Methodist Church under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Burial with full military honors will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Nell Ruth McCabe Graham of the home, who he married 58 years ago at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, two daughters, Sherry Claudia Graham Lowden and her husband Henry Marshall Lowden of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Brenda Jane Graham of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one grandson who he was very proud of, Graham Henry Lowden; several nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews; two sister in laws, Ludy McCabe Smith of California and Tina Graham of Garland, Texas.
Pallbearers will be the U.S. Army.
