Mary Bernice Wood Gehring, 88, of New Blaine, AR passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in a Clarksville hospital. She was a member of St. Scholastica Church in New Blaine, AR. She was owner/operator in various businesses including Gehring Fuel and Drae in Dixon, CA, Forrest House Hotel in Forrest Hill, CA, Davis Van and Storage - Allied Van Lines Agent, owner/operator of Trading Post Mini Mall, Inc. in New Blaine and Shoal Bay Mobile Home and RV Park in New Blaine. She was a member of North Logan County Hospital Board of Directors, East Logan County Water Board and Logan County Facility Board. She was born May 8, 1927 in Van Buren, AR to the late Charles Augustus and Evelyn Pearl (Winn) Wood. Also preceded in death by her husband, Leo M. Gehring, Sr.; a grandson, James Marion Gehring and a granddaughter, Carolyn Anne Anderson.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in New Blaine, AR under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to service - 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the St. Scholastica Catholic Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy C. Kinslow of Hot Springs, AR; three sons, Leo M. Gehring, Jr. of Elk Grove, CA, Timothy P. Gehring of New Blaine, AR and Rev. Michael J. Gehring of Stateville, NC; one sister, Norma Ann Wood Rossi of Boise, Idaho; 8 grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
