Sweet Memories

The best memories of my childhood, were coming to stay the summers at Aunt Kay's farm. I got to play with my cousins, Kim and Wally. I learned to ride a horse, and go to rodeos. Got to feed baby calves, and lick the salt lick in the pasture. Getting to hold baby chicks when they were delivered. Getting to see puppies being born. Watched cousin Wally playing baseball and screamed until I lost my voice. Swimming at  Lake Weddington. Walking to the country store, to get Jungle Juice and cherry mashes. Riding in the bed of a pick-up truck full of hay at night, looking up at the stars.  Aunt Kay pierced my ears for me when I was in second grade. She nursed and took care of me if I got sick. She would pay me a whole quarter, for playing with her hair. She made the best chocolate sheet cake in the whole wide world, homemade raspberry jam in mason jars with a wax seal on top,  and the best sage dressing I've ever tasted. Thank you Aunt Kay, for helping me, teaching me, loving me, and laughing with me. I love and miss you. Please give hugs to all our family in Heaven until I can hug you all myself again ♥
