Michael K. Gurlen, Sr., 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday April 16, 2015 in a local hospital. Mike was a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones and retired from TXO and Sonat. He was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, serving as an usher, a member of the Finance Committee and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Mike graduated from Arkansas State University and was a member of the FHCC Table of Knowledge. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Myrtle “John” James Gurlen; one sister Glenna Donaldson and one brother Jim Bob Gurlen.
Mike is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; two daughters, Libby Gurlen Meyer and Kelly Robison Bates both of Fort Smith; two sons, Michael K. Gurlen, Jr. of Vinta, OK and Elijah “Eli” Robison of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Jennifer Meyer Monroe of Berkeley, CA and Annabelle Bates of Fort Smith and one great-grandchild Harrison Monroe of Berkeley, CA.
Memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday April 21, 2015 at St. Paul United Methodist Church under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The Family will visit with friends following the service in Christopher Hall at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
