Beverly Gail Golden, 58, of Fort Smith passed away Thursday December 18, 2014 after a long hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Santa Monica, California August 14, 1956 to Bill and Judy Shaw Jackson. She was of the Christian Faith and had a close relationship with the Lord.
Beverly loved to travel with her travel buddy MacKenzie. She was a lover of flowers and enjoyed many days in her patio garden. She loved crafts, knitting, journaling and being a grandmother.
Beverly received her degree in Nursing and worked as a RN at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, California until moving to Fort Smith where she continued her nursing career at Sparks Hospital for several years. After Sparks she worked for several Home Healthcare agencies including Area Agency on Aging, Long Term Care Group and Louisiana Health Care. She also worked several years for the State of Arkansas as a Home Health Surveyor. Her last employment was at Select Hospital in Fayetteville as Director of Quality Management. She was also a licensed Massage Therapist.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Golden of Fort Smith; one son, Robert Golden; two granddaughters, MacKenzie Golden Brown and Garyn Alexander both of Fort Smith; her parents, Bill and Judy Shaw Jackson of Fort Smith; one sister, Susan Boone and her husband Daniel of Fort Smith; two brothers, Steve Jackson and his wife Lisa of Fort Smith and William Jackson and his wife Brittany of Fort Smith; several dear nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Lawrence and Vida Jackson and Roscoe and Alburvia Shaw.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith with burial in Oak Cemetery I Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Giovanni Ocasio, Blake Weaver, Daniel Boone II, Daniel Boone III, Jeff Jackson, Dillon Golden and William Jackson.
The Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
