Obituary for Jacqueline Carleen O'Dell (Dyer)

Jacqueline Carleen O'Dell (Dyer)
Our beloved mother, Jacqueline “Carleen” O’Dell, 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas won her race on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in a local hospital, waiting in the victory circle were her parents, Kenneth Carl and Helen Maxine Dyer and her loving husband Harold O’Dell.
Carleen was born on September 24, 1943 in Fort Smith, AR. She was a devoted Christian, amazing mother, grandmother, wife and friend. During her walk on earth Carleen enjoyed playing the piano, singing, farming, camping and world travel but most of all she enjoyed her time spent with family and friends.
Carleen was a member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Conway, AR where she and Harold volunteered with the youth ministry and the church’s assistance program for the homeless and underprivileged families. After retiring from Simmons First National Bank in Little Rock, Carleen returned to her hometown of Fort Smith to spend her final days with family and friends.
Carleen’s final resting place will be at Roselawn Cemetery alongside of her parents. A graveside memorial will be held to celebrate and reflect on her life on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00PM. We would like to invite friends and family to wear Carleen’s favorite color, green.
She is survived by her two daughters, Renee Hale-Childs of Eagle River, AK and Christine Lowrey and husband Neil of Fort Smith, AR; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Moubarak of Waldron, AR, Taylor Tucker of Fort Smith, AR and Chelsea Hale of Eagle River, AK and one great grandchild, Kaedon Moubarak.
