Obituary for Jack Ed White

Jack Ed  White
Jack Ed White 93, of Alma passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 in an Alma. He was born in Arkoma, Oklahoma, and moved to Rudy in 1923. He currently operated Hwy 71 Pawn World in Alma, owner/operator of Home World in Fort Smith, worked in the Variety Store business for 25 years; He was a farmer in Rudy with beef, dairy, swine and poultry. He was a manager for 30 years at Farmers Co-Op of Van Buren. He was a WWII Army Veteran servicing in Germany from 1944 to 1945. He married the mother of his children, Nadine Alexander in 1939. He attended Trinity Baptist Church north of Alma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian (Brown) White; his parents, Ed & Violet (Demeter) White; two brothers, Richard and Henry White.

Funeral service will be 10 AM Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren with military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda DeShazo and husband, Charles of Rudy, Sherry McCarthy and husband, Dave of Fulton, Missouri, Karen Steward and husband, Tom of Alma; two step-sons, Kenneth and Keith Fry of Van Buren; two sisters, Mary Young and husband, Ray of Alma, Rose Marshton of Rudy; three brothers, Eric White of New Braunfels, Texas, James White of Alma; five grandchildren, DeWite DeShazo , Charla and David Parrish, Lynn and Bob Martin, Shilo and Kelly Blackwell, Brett and Megan Carter; nine great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons, DeWite De Shazo, Bret Carter, Dustin DeShazo, Dillon DeShazo, Dax DeShazo, Ryan Wight and Mason Wight.

The family will visit with relatives and friends, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.

Memorial may be made to the Alma Community Outreach, P.O. Box 1604, Alma, Arkansas 72921.
