Obituary for Ed F. DePriest

Ed F.   DePriest
Ed DePriest,80, of Fort Smith, AR passed away on Monday April 21, 2014 in his home. He was born in Blytheville, AR, raised in Little Rock, AR and had resided in Fort Smith since 1970. He was retired from Rheem Manufacturing as the Division Director of Quality Assurance. He was also a retired United States Air Force Korean War veteran having served ten years on active duty primarily in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) and the remaining time with the 188th Tactical Fighter Group. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. A 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris DePriest; a daughter, Cynthia DePriest Shelton; his father Hylan DePriest; his mother Edna Salter and his step-mother Opal DePriest Snow.
He is survived by a daughter, Janis Hall of Fort Smith; a son David DePriest of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Alisha Hall, Hayden and Daylen DePriest all of Fort Smith and Dr. Rachel McKelvy and her husband Tim of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Phillip DePriest of Little Rock, AR and James Ray Campbell of Grapeland, TX.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial with full military honors in U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be the Military.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Wednesday, April 23rd at the funeral home.
