Obituary for Mary Catherine Medlock (Knight)

Mary Catherine  Medlock (Knight)
Mary Catherine Medlock, 82, peacefully slipped away and went to be with her Lord early April 2, 2014 while at Peachtree Hospice care in Fort Smith. She had been at Hope's Creek in Van Buren for the past two years. She was born October 2, 1931 in Mulberry, AR to Jesse and Dean (Travis) Knight. She grew up in the Centerpoint and Lone Elm Communities. She was a devout Christian and a member of The Assembly of God Church in Mulberry. She was a homemaker until her children grew up, then she went to work at Garrison Furniture Factory in Fort Smith for 12 years and then worked for Pradco Industries in Mulberry for 12 years when she retired. She was a very beautiful woman with a spirit to match, enjoying gardening and was an avid reader. Her biggest enjoyment in life was caring for and cooking for her family. She was a great mother. She loved children and pets and was kind and generous with everyone she met. She was beloved by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John L. and James T. Knight.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles D. Medlock of Alma; two daughters, Karen E. Mader of Alma and Linda J. Elliott of Fort Smith; one son, Charles S. Medlock of Alma; one brother, Travis Knight of North Dakota and one grandchild, Jesse D. Medlock of Mulberry.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Monday, April 7, 2014 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in New Cemetery. Reverend Dade Kendrix will be officiating the service. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 6th at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma.
