Verna Lea Jones, 95 of Van Buren passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and attended Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church. She is a former resident of Tulsa where she raised her family. She loved quilting, crafts and making jewelry. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Jones; one son Doyle Jones; one daughter Gaylon Carter; sisters Robbie Wentz, Imogene Hyler, Annita Davis and Sarah Jane Davis; brothers Samuel, Virgil, Farris, Elton, John, Jim Richard and Alvie Davis; two grandsons Jason Carter and Chris Jones; one great grandson Jack and one great granddaughter Alba.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. Family will visit with relatives and friends one hour prior to the service Thursday from 10-11 AM at Ocker Funeral Home.

She is survived by two sisters Mary Phillips and husband Calvin of Rudy and Ann Ming and husband Gary of Rudy; one brother Waldon Davis of Chester; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; friends and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Rick Dickens, Thel Ellison and James Rose.
