Obituary for Sue Jean Hembera (Johnson)
Sue Jean Hembera, 79 of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 in her home. She had worked in retail sales at both Penney’s and Dillard’s in Fort Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years John Hembera; her parents Alexander and Polly (Workman) Johnson, Sr.; three brothers Alexander Johnson, Jr., Michael Johnson and Patrick Johnson.
She is survived by two daughters Dena Allison and husband William of Van Buren and Jeanna Hoover and husband Robert of Oak Point, Texas; one son John Hembera, Jr. and wife Elaine of Norman, Oklahoma; two sisters Judy Barr of Roxboro, North Carolina and Angela Rupp of Mountainburg; two brothers Stephen Johnson of Kaufman, Texas and Jack Johnson of Van Buren; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 (Noon) Monday, November 7, 2022 graveside at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
