Obituary for Shirley Ann Cagle (Oliver)

Shirley Ann Cagle, 87, of Mulberry, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Shirley was of the Baptist faith and worked for over 40 years for Tyson and OK Foods as a poultry farmer. She was a member of the 1954 Mulberry High School graduating class. Shirley loved to work and ride around on her 4-wheeler taking care of her red angus cattle. One of her greatest joys in life was being able to watch her grandchildren play sports. Shirley was born February 20, 1936 in Mulberry, Arkansas to the late William Dow and Glynda (Waits) Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, LaRee Davis.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma with interment to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry, AR. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2024 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Pallbearers will be Winston Cagle, Ronnie “Peeper” Dunbar Jr., John Parrish, Ron Reed, Dr. Anthony Davis, Nathon Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Southern, Shelly and Flo Wyers, Davey Edwards, Doug McKinney, and Bob Hatchett.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 69 years, Billie “Champ” Cagle; daughter, Melissa Reed and husband Ron of Mulberry, AR; son, Richard Champ Cagle and wife Sally of Mulberry, AR; grandchildren, Ronnie “Peeper” Dunbar and wife Mitzi, Winston Champ Cagle and wife Morgan, Samantha Cagle; great-grandchildren, Parker Champ Cagle, Everett Champ Cagle; sisters, Janice Parrish, and Cindy Rowe.
