Roy Wayne Culverson, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on August 30, 1937 in Fort Smith to Robert “Jimmy” and Willie (Freeman) Culverson. He was a Navy veteran and a former salesman for Grainger Industrial Supplies. Roy was an accomplished bowler; he was inducted in the Hall of Fame in the Fort Smith USBC, Arkansas State USBC and the Southern Regional USBC, the former USBC Association manager and State USBC Association manager. He was an active member of Rye Hill Baptist Church volunteering in numerous capacities.
Funeral services are 11:30AM, Friday, April 21, 2023 at Rye Hill Baptist Church with burial with honors to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Thursday, April 20th at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita of the home; a son, Michael Culverson and his wife Melissa of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Cooper Culverson of Hackett, AR, Lola Culverson of Greenwood, AR and Calli Culverson of Fort Smith; three sisters, Rosemary Snow, Martha Savage and Betty Jacobs all of Van Buren, AR. and numerous nieces and nephews.
