Obituary for Norma Jean Brinegar (Polk)

Norma Jean Polk Enevoldson Brinegar, 89, passed away from this life on September 1, 2023. She was a strong Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt and friend who lived in faith her whole life. Jean was a housewife her whole life, taking care of her family and many other friends who came to stay at various times.
Norma Jean was born on November 6, 1933 in Broom City, Texas to Norman and Ora Day (McIver) Polk. She married her high school sweetheart, Earl Leroy Enevoldson on June 18, 1953 after her senior year. Earl and Norma Jean were married 45 years and raised four children. Earl and Jean traveled and made many friends and memories everywhere they went. Just say I want to go somewhere and the next thing you know here we Go!
Norma Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl Evevoldson, her second husband Winfred Brinegar, a son, Darrell Enevoldson, a granddaughter, Theresa Matlock and a nephew, Jimmy Chapline.
Funeral services are 11:00AM, Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow after the service.
She is survived by a son, Danny Enevoldson (Shelly); two daughters, Wanda Matlock (Jimmy) and Wilda Ybarra (Sammy); a brother, Kenneth Polk; two sisters, Shirley Chapline and Glenda Jones (Jimmy) and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
After having a stroke, Alzheimer disease was diagnosed and she was taken care of by her children until her mobility and memory prevented it.

Jean was always all smiles when her family visited her, she loved her family dearly. She will be missed by ALL.
