Obituary for Nancy Sue Pierson (Higginbotham)
Nancy Sue Pierson, 80, of Alma, Arkansas passed away July 4, 2022 at a local hospital. She was a retired account manager for Superior Federal Bank, a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Alma, and a member of the Bunco Babes. Nancy was born October 31, 1941 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Emmett and Alma Ruth (McNeese) Higginbotham. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate, Ernie Pierson; parents, Emmett and Alma Ruth Higginbotham; stepmother, Myra (Jones) Higginbotham; daughter, Teri Lynn Pierson; brother, Emmett Higginbotham; and grandson, Marshall Winn.
The family will visit with friends and family from 2:00 till 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Funeral service will be at 12:30 P.M. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church in Alma with burial to follow at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Mike Cyr, Emmett David Higginbotham, Darrell Martin, Rick Whitlow, Phillip Patterson, and Chris Cyr.
Nancy is survived by two daughters, Karen Cyr and husband Mike of Spokane, WA, and Ruth Winn of Alma; son, Ken Pierson and wife Janet of Alma; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of unofficially adopted sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
