Obituary for Marsha Joan Schneider-Gordon (Schneider)

Marsha Joan Schneider Born March 18, 1952 in Crawford Memorial Hospital (now Baptist Health) in Van Buren, AR regretfully passed away this Sunday afternoon April 14, 2024 at Baptist Health (formally known as Sparks) in Fort Smith, AR. She was 72 years old. She was the daughter of the late Aaron V. Schneider and Vivian Sue Schneider and the sister of the late Fred Schneider of Van Buren, AR, as well as a living siter Vicky Schneider of Tennessee. Marsha is survived by 12 of her 14 children (no twins) Monica Joy Robbins of Mountainburg, AR, Amber G. Davila of Alma, AR, Jeremy Dane Robbins of Van Buren, AR, Timothy Blake Robbins of Van Buren, AR, Bryan Chad Robbins of Van Buren, AR, Kevan Marc Robbins of Sallisaw, OK, Heather Brooke Robbins of Van Buren, AR, Stephen Paul Robbins of Locke, AR, Kayla Dawn Robbins of Locke, AR, Shaun Matthew Robbins of Fort Smith, AR, Maegan Shavon Robbins of Mountainburg, AR, and Farrah Lanay Robbins of Mountainburg, AR. As well as 38 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her children’s father Jerry Don Robbins, by two children Derek Shane Robbins of Boonville, AR and Ashlea Noel Christie of Locke, AR as well as 3 grandchildren. Also, by two other husbands and a loving companion.

Marsha was raised by her parents in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Which she remained a firm believer throughout her life even though she fell away from the church in later years. Her belief in the religion never wavered.

Marsha’s early life included many states, cities, homes and schools as her father moved the family around always in search of better employment opportunities. She graduated high school in Conway, AR and then soon moved with her family back to Locke, AR where she then married a local resident which she would go on to have 14 children with.

Marsha was anything but a ‘wallflower”. She was always the life of any party that she attended and was never shy about getting on the dancefloor or grabbing a microphone to sing. She adored everything there was about music and never limited her tastes to a certain genre, and would go from Gospel to Rock to Bluegrass or Country all in one sitting. Whatever direction the mood took her in she was there and then “the grove” would hit and she would start dancing. She became known as a local legend dubbed “The Dancin’ Queen” of Paris, AR. Some thought of her as crazy and others as a joyful sight to see that brought them a smile when she’d be seen dancing along the streets of Paris, but she never paid anybody any mind and just danced her heart out to the rhythms and beats of that day’s soundtrack.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday, April 19, 2024 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment to follow at Locke Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
