Obituary for Larry Allen Wright
Larry Allen Wright, 68, of Van Buren, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Larry was a member of Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church, and the Gideons International where he spent a life time in ministry, serving in prison ministry and traveling with them internationally. He loved the Lord and was always trying to tell people about him. He was also a member of the Alma Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Larry, owned and operated Total Truck and Equipment in Van Buren. In his free time, he loved to fish, collect antique tractors, and play in the dirt on the farm with his grandchildren and work on their cars in the shop. Larry was an avid NASCAR fan who loved going to races. Larry and Debbie were members of the Road Hogs Motorcoach and Motorcycle Club and enjoyed traveling across the country with them. He was always helping neighbors and friends. Volunteering at Mercy hospital with their dog, making visits to patients was his joy.
Larry was born August 23, 1955 in Los Angeles, California to Billy Joe and Lee Etta (Castor) Wright. The family moved back to Alma in 1963 where Larry would go on to graduate from Alma Highschool in 1973. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Billy and Lee Etta Wright, and a sister, Debra Squires.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery in Kibler. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Pallbearers will be Boyd Wright, Beck Wright, Drake Speaker, Matt DeJarnatt, John DeJarnatt, and Nate Neubauer. Honorary pallbearers will be the Gideons.
Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie (Pense) Wright of the home; son, Courtney Wright and wife Carrie of Van Buren, AR; daughter, Candi Freeman and husband Austin of Van Buren, AR; grandchildren, Boyd Wright, Beck Wright, Hayley Calderone, Drake Speaker, Matthew DeJarnatt, John DeJarnatt, Madison Freeman, Snow Freeman, William Freeman; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Floyd, Asher DeJarnatt; brother, Mike Wright; and his two dogs, Lola and Louie.
