Obituary for Joseph "Joe" Timothy Latimer

Joseph “Joe” Latimer, 80, formerly of Arkoma, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on Sunday,
April 14, 2024 in Conway, Arkansas.  He was born on July 14, 1943 in Bee Branch, Arkansas to
the late James T. and Thelma (Thomas) Latimer.  He served in the U.S. Army, was a technician
for a local cable company and a carpenter. He was a member of Arkoma First Baptist Church.
His pride and joy were his 2 daughters, his 2 grandsons and his “big bass catch” that was a state
record. He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends while making memories. He
loved to laugh, pull pranks and was commonly known as being ornery.
He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing were his passion. He enjoyed being creative with
wood in his basement and working with his hands. He loved to make things such as doll
furniture, leather wallets, kitchen cabinets, bullets, and fishing lures. Anyone that toured his
basement saw his sign “If it looks like manure, it’s a Latimer lure.” This sign brought a lot of
laughter and discussion.
He is survived by his daughters, Terri (Tom) Anderson of Conway, AR and Carolyn (Patrick)
Martin of Roland, OK; two grandsons, Derrick and Adam Anderson of Conway, AR; two sisters,
Marjorie Warburton of Fort Smith, AR and Diane (Steve) Parra of Rowlett, TX and one brother,
Gene (Connie) Earls of Arkoma, OK.
