Obituary for Gypsy Jo Actkinson

Gypsy Jo Actkinson, 90, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away on January 24th at her home of 60 years.
In Van Buren, she was known to many as ‘Ms. Gypsy’ having taught and led the daycare at First Baptist Church for 26 years. She was the happiest when she was where the Lord needed her to be which included volunteering at that Literacy Council and Compassionate Ministries Food Bank throughout 1989 - 2013.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren.
Gypsy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Les Actkinson and two sons, Rick and Donald Actkinson.
Gypsy is survived by her son, Lindsey Actkinson and wife Lori of Van Buren, AR; two daughters in law, Doris Hodgens of Uniontown, AR and Karen Actkinson of Colleyville, TX; Niece, Nancy Essman of Littleton, CO; Eight Grandchildren: Lee (Gina), Meredith, Jacob (Ann Marie), Chase and Rhyker Actkinson; Jessica Route (Justin), Hannah Armstrong (Gary), Catie Livesay, and Emily Prieto (Joey); and 13 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and two great nephews; honorary pallbearers are her 8 great grandsons.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday January 31st at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on January 30th between 5 – 7p.m at Ocker Funeral Home.
