Clarence “CB” Turnipseed, 89, of Fort Smith passed away on Tuesday August 9, 2022 in Fort Smith. He was born June 4, 1933 in Houlka, MS to Garland and Nellie (Hampton) Turnipseed. He retired after 36 years from AOG as the meter shop foreman. CB was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, an avid baseball player, playing and coaching for the Boys Club, Church League and the Old Smokers Baseball Team. He was preceded in death by his son, Todd Harmon; one brother, Robert Turnipseed and three sisters, Dorothy Nilz, Jean Ingram and Donna Hill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Billie Jean; two daughters, Kathy Baumann (Mark) of St. Louis. MO and Debra Beam (Steve) of Greenwood; one son, Stan Turnipseed of Ft. Smith; nine grandchildren, Lacey Mensing, Maggie Saffle, Noah Harmon, Steven Beam, Jr., Joshua Beam, Brandy Ree, Kyle Beam, Cody and Keith Turnipseed and a host of great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 13, 2022 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with private burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
The Family will visit with friends from 5-7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
