Obituary for Charles E Webb

Charles “Chuck” Edwin Webb, 74, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in a local hospital. He was born on September 26, 1948 at Figure Five, near Van Buren, Arkansas to Raymond and Laure Marie (Claphan) Webb. He was a retired building engineer and supervisor from Fort Smith Public Schools at Ramsey and Darby Junior High Schools He was of the Baptist faith. Chuck was a 1966 Van Buren High School graduate, studied Architecture and Mechanical Drafting at Westark Junior College, and was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War on the USS Princeton and other duty at home and abroad. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Webb and a sister, Shirley Turner.
Chuck loved time with friends and family, music of CCR, folk and bluegrass, The Beach Boys, The Band, Jimi Hendrix, and Olivia Newton-John, among many others. Chuck also loved his favorite canine nurse, Evie, and her assistant, Oscar. Chuck loved the outdoors, anything chocolate, except pineapple and cherries, was a fantastic baker, and enjoyed tinkering, gardening, and Arkansas football and basketball, the Dallas Cowboys, and Sudoku.

Graveside services with honors will be 1:00PM, Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Billie Webb of the home; two daughters, Larissa Ellison and her husband James of Van Buren and Rebecca Webb and her wife Lauren Webb of Bentonville, AR; two grandchildren, Ashly and Travis Grigsby and a step grandson, Oaklee Redleaf; two brothers, Jerry Webb of Hackett, AR and James Webb of Fort Smith; and two sisters, Laura Doble of Rogers, AR and Sarah Parks of Pensacola, FL.
