Obituary for Ben M. Coody
Ben Coody, Sr., 81, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in a local hospital. He was born on November 18, 2023 in Monroe, Louisiana to Thomas and Ebrige (Emmons) Coody. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and of the Methodist faith. Ben previously had owned several butcher shops and after selling them and moving to Fort Smith he retired from Paul’s Meat Market.
Graveside services are 2:00 PM Monday, June 26, 2023 at Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Visitation is from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Sunday.
He is survived by his son, Ben Coody, Jr. and his wife Shelly of Fort Smith; a daughter, Rhonda Coody Katzman of Naples, FL; three grandchildren, Christian, Taylor and Chase Coody of Little Rock, AR and two great grandchildren, Avery and Clara.
