Obituary for Barbara Ann Cooper (Claborn)

Barbara Ann Cooper 65, of Alma passed away peacefully Friday, January 12, 2024, in her home surrounded by family. She was the owner of G&B Cooper Enterprises, L.L.C. She loved Arts & Crafts, decorating, gardening, metal detecting, gaming and most of all her grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents Lonnie Orbit and Shirley Ann (Smith) Claborn; one brother Robert Claborn.

A private burial will be at a later date under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, 700 Jefferson Street.

She is survived by her husband of forty-six years Gary Cooper of Alma; daughter Alisha Keirsey and husband Jimmy of Van Buren; one sister Cheryl Brinkley and husband Keith of Muldrow; three grandsons Brayden, Bryson and Brody Keirsey all of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Keirsey, Brayden Keirsey, Bryson Keirsey, David Cooper, Jimmy Cooper and Richard McKinley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Brinkley and Brody Keirsey.

In lieu of flowers Barbara’s wishes were to help the homeless so memorials can be made in her honor to the Community Rescue Mission in Fort Smith, 310 F Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901 and Gospel Rescue Misson, 201 Drennen Street, Van Buren, AR 72956.
