Obituary for Julio Cesar Salas

Julio Cesar Salas, 23 of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Fort Smith.
He worked for Bartel Installations in Van Buren. He was a 2016 graduate of Southside High School in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Genaro Salas.

Funeral service will be at 2 PM Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

He is survived by his fiancé Ashleigh Albert of the home; his children Avianna and Santos Cruz-Salas of the home; his parents Elizabeth Castillo-Corbett and husband Leon of Fort Smith and Genaro Salas of La Blanca, Mexico; five sisters Jesika Salas, Nathalie Hernandez, Kai-leigh Staster and Breanna Gilyard all of Fort Smith, Arely Salas of La Blanca, Mexico; seven brothers Genaro and Chano Salas, Frank, Anthony and Nikolas Hernandez all of Fort Smith, Marco Salas of South Carolina, Isaiah Salas of La Blanca, Mexico; maternal grandparents Colleen Evans of Fort Smith, Jesse and Janice Castillo of Fort Smith; paternal grandparents Teresa Salas of Fort Smith; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 4-6 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Manuel Benavides, Frank Hernandez, Genaro Salas, Loren Harshaw, Montez Williams and Ethan Phillips.
