Obituary for Polly Cowin (Tipton)

Lillian (Polly) Cowin, 94, of Mountainburg passed away into the presence of her Lord Jesus on Thursday, April 15. She is survived by 2 daughters, Gay Thurman and husband Bob of Dallas, TX and Suzan Casey and husband Scott of Midland, TX; 4 grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren; a sister, Leonora Jones of Mountainburg, AR; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene and Nicki Cowin, a niece and 2 nephews.

Polly, with Perry her husband of 74 years, moved to their land in Schaberg in 1970. She partnered with him in pastoring two area churches, teaching and counseling young and old throughout their lives together. Polly was a city-girl with a pioneer heart who rose to every occasion presented to her, whether it be raising cattle, killing snakes, or loving and caring for people. Her love for Jesus and the truths taught in the Bible shined through everything she did. Her body of 94 years is laid to rest; her life in eternity has just begun.

Pallbearers will be great grandsons.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Odessa, TX on Saturday,2:00 p.m. April 24, 2021 with Pastor Darrell Trout officiating. A visitation with friends will be from 10:00 until 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
