Vivian “Ruth” Gibbs, 91, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on January 28, 2021 in a local hospital. She was born on October 29, 1929 in Greenwood, Arkansas to Homer Lee and Corinne Janice (Evans) Gibbs. She was a beautician and of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Townshend, a son, Michael McGuire, a grandson, Freddie Gray and a sister, Jane Kirby.
Funeral service is 1:00 PM, Monday, February 1, 2021 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas private burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Evan Frick of Fort Smith, her companion, Rex Martin of Fort Smith; a sister, Norma Lee Hopkins of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, Brook Kibler, Kelsey Rogers, Elizabeth and Sarah Frick, Kari Philpot and Christian and Phillip McGuire; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and family.
Viewing will be Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 12-4PM at the funeral home.
