Billy Eugene Ruth, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, January 19.2021 in a local hospital. He was born on August 1, 1935 in Sebastian County to Paul and Mary (Hall) Ruth. He was a siding and window construction contractor and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Bill loved to snow ski and was always on the “hunt” for Hot Wheels and when his mother would ask him as a last wish to take her to Vegas, he would, this happened several times. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Shirley Ruth and Peggy Keating, a daughter, Debbie Ruth and one grandson, Keith Ruth.
Funeral service is 10:00AM, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Barling City Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Billy Ruth, Jr. and his wife Becky of Fort Smith; a grandson, Shawn Adams of Fort Smith; two nieces, Teresa Yarbrough and her husband Ronnie and Paula Tuck and her husband Dennis both of Van Buren; a nephew, Shannon Simmons and his wife Brandi of Van Buren and several cousins and friends.
Mr. Ruth may be viewed from 1-4PM on Friday at the funeral home.
