Our fondest memories of Richard "Doc" was the first time we met him and his wife, Jean was in Dec of 1984. We were welcomed in to there home. My son, Jeff and Diane flew in from Germany with our great grandson, Justin. Doc introduced us to the New Years special of greens, blackeyes, and cornbread. We always think of him on New Years Day. After that visit we felt like family and we have spent many more times with him and Jean enjoying our great grandchildren together. May he rest in Peace.

Dear Jean & Family,

Very sad to hear of Dr. Darden's passing.
Much enjoyed medical practice with Richard with his keen clinical acumen , fine patient care, and wondrous dry wit.
He made us happier, healthier, wiser, better in what could often be very drab situations.
Thanks to him & you all as his loved ones.

Our deepest condolences,

Albert & Jennie Mac Dade and Family

Prayers for you, Jean and your family. May God provide you with strength and peace. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have of a man who was loved. I have always appreciated the support Dr. Darden gave me during the time I helped with the youth at St. John's Episcopal Church in Fort Smith and I am thankful I was blessed to know him. My family and I send our deepest sympathy. Lori (Arnold) and Chris Burton
