Obituary for Clarence Alfred LaRue

Clarence Alfred LaRue, 86, of Van Buren passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was an Assembly of God minster, farmer, furniture factory worker and supervisor, avid beekeeper owning and operating LaRue’s Bee Hive and Honey House for 17 years alongside his wife. He loved the outdoors and his little cabin in the woods, riding four wheelers, hunting and spending time with his family. Alfred was loved and will be missed by many.

Alfred was born June 24, 1934 in Rudy to the late John and Ruby (Atwell) LaRue. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma LaRue and a son, Kyle LaRue.

Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Ocker Chapel of Van Buren with interment at Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Survivors include daughters, Sheila Wells and husband Jimmy of Cedarville and Sherry Poor and husband Michael of Greenbrier; son, Darrell LaRue and wife Cyndi of Lavaca; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Travis Mankins, Heath Wilkerson, Danny Brewer, Jonathan Wells, D.Ray Wagner and Garry Morrow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vander Atwell, Billy Joe Atwell, Ed Rainwater, Ray LaRue, Conrad LaRue, Bill LaRue, Barney LaRue, Mark LaRue and Don LaRue.

Family will visit with friends on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at Ocker Memorial Chapel of Van Buren, 700 Jefferson St.
