Obituary for Wyonia Lea Dray (Thompson)

Wyonia (Nonie) L. Thompson Dray
Nonie was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas March 4, 1944 and passed into the arms of her savior in Tulsa, Oklahoma December 5, 2020 at the age of 76 years old. She was a graduate of Alma High School, class of 1962. Nonie and Harvey V. Dray Jr. of Lexington, KY married on June 4, 1962 and were married 58 years upon Harvey’s passing on November 10, 2020.
Nonie and Harvey moved to Lexington, KY after her graduation and resided there until 1978, they then moved back to Alma, Nonie worked many different jobs throughout her lifetime including DHS, as a homemaker and also as a cook at Meadors Inn. She retired from Alma Intermediate School as a food service worker. Nonie loved people and never met a stranger. Nonie loved children and was known by most kids at Miss Nonie, Nanny, “Gramma” of Gma.
Nonie and Harvey were blessed with three sons that she loved and cherished. Nonie was preceded in death by her parents, Howard M. and Edna L. (Suggs) Thompson, husband Harvey and son Mark K. Dray all of Alma, AR.
Nonie is survived by her son Terry A. Dray, grandson Henry D. and granddaughter Grace E. of Alma, son Jerry Blake Dray, wife Terry Ann, granddaughter, Emma Kate of Tahlequah, OK. Two sisters, Jeanette (Lindell) Williams of Fort Smith, AR and Marilyn (Jim) Willmon of Van Buren. Nonie is also survived by nieces, Stefni (Barry) Dickinson, and Catrina (Chris) Hibbs; Nephews Todd Williams, Toby Williams all of Fort Smith, AR, Chad (Cambrie) Willmon of Van Buren, AR; great nieces and nephews, Cailyn and Cara Willmon, Lane and Mattie Dickinson, Emmalee and Graham Hibbs, Carolann and Caleb Williams. (Adoptive grandchildren) Sandra, Travis and Lisa, her love was the same for all. Also survived by her extended family of grandchildren Bradley (Kayla) Price, Brittany (Chase) Reed and James (Mary) Price and all five great grands all of Tahlequah, OK
Nonie loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing His word with everyone. She loved learning through her weekly Community Bible Study class. She loved her family and always had room in her heart and her home was always open. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
We celebrate a life well lived.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in Alma City Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers will be Barry Dickinson, Chris Hibbs, Leroy Gregory, Todd Williams, Toby Williams, Travis Hyman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Willmon, Lindell Williams and Chad Willmon.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m Wednesday evening at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
