Robert M. Dyer, Sr. of Van Buren was born April 25, 1935 in Mountainburg to Lester and Elizabeth Dyer and passed away December 5, 2020 at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 39 years, Brenda Irene Harris; two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Woody Cemetery in Rudy, AR under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Viva; two sons, Robert, Jr. and wife Dyan and J. Eric and wife Maria; 5 grandchildren, Kitty Jones of OK, Carson Dyer, Morgan Dyer, Jessica and Samantha Dyer of CO; 2 stepchildren, Don Reed and Lynn Wilson; 2 sisters, Peggy Carter and Brenda Smulcher and 1 brother, Johnny Dyer.

He was employed at Ballman Cummings and Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith. He served 2 years in the Field Artillery in Germany.

Robert was a Freewill Baptist Minister for over 40 years at various churches in the area.
He loved the Lord and attended church at every opportunity. He sang and played guitar and mandolin. He preached the word at all times.

He will be missed by all his friends and family, but they all know he is resting with the Lord.

Public viewing will be Tuesday from 8:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, 700 Jefferson, St.
