Obituary for Marilyn Jean Stovall (Greene)

Marilyn Jean Stovall, 86 of Fort Smith born August 16, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa our mother left us on Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the Heart of Hospice Unit at Baptist Hospital Fort Smith from Covid19 and a broken spirit from living in a nursing home during the Covid19 outbreak. She was a homemaker, free spirit, always ready for a laugh, very quick witted and ready to make all around laugh to tears. You could always find her with a puppy in her arms and a couple of them at her heels, throw in a parrot, kitty, a horse and she was in heaven. She is no longer sick, sad, or lonely. We loved her so deeply that it will hurt a long time; something you get thru not over. She was of the Christian Faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, James J. Stovall; a daughter, Mary Joe Steeve; her parents, Harry Harrison and Mary Jessee (Ashton) Greene; her twin sister, Marlene Wilson; a brother, Sonny Greene and her grandson, Anthony Fenton.

No family service will be held; Arrangements and cremation under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She was survived by her two daughters, Sylvia Stewart and husband, Don of Van Buren, Marilyn Stovall of Centerville, Iowa; three sons, Joe Stovall of Crowley, La., James Stovall of Missouri, John Stovall of Muldrow, OK; one sister, JoAnn Kincade and husband, Jerry of Clinton, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Memorial contribution can be made to Almost Home Animal Shelter in Van Buren or a local animal shelter of your choice.

Special thank you and love to Springwood Behavioral and Washington Regional Hospital both in Fayetteville and Heart of Hospice Fort Smith.
