Obituary for George E Willmuth

George Edward Willmuth, 94 of Cedarville passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 in a local nursing home. George was born March 26, 1925 near North Little Rock, Arkansas to George W. and Nellie Grace (Oliver) Willmuth. He married Ethel “Maxine” (Brown) on December 14, 1945 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. They had three children, Susan, Ray and Don. He and his family moved to California in 1950 where he was owner/operator of Golden Bear Sight Seeing Company, Bus and Truck Repair Company in the Los Angeles area and Orange County in California. In 1969 he retired and he and his family moved to Van Buren, He was elected and served as Crawford County Judge from 1980 to 1989. Following his retirement as County Judge he enjoyed traveling in his motor home, working in his garden, mowing his lawn, working his cattle on the farm and spending time with his family and friends. He was known as Judge, Husband, Father, Grandpa, Pappy, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He will be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor, and his “mischievous” grin, he will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Willmuth; his parents; two sisters, Marion Coulon, Owen Cowan; three brothers, Noel, Sidney and Ewell Willmuth.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday October 2, 2019 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Sarah Grove Cemetery in Cedarville under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. Family will visit with relatives and friends from 1:00 -2:00 PM. (one hour prior to service).

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Maxine; one daughter, Susan Moir of Little Rock; one son Don Willmuth and wife Mary of Cedarville; five grandchildren Christine Cook, Darin Kerley, Angela Perkins, Kelli Reiner and Kerri Copeland; eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Belt, Miles Cook, Chris Marion, Todd Small, Dwight Small and John Hall.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Rogers, Mack Dyer, Roger Campbell, Richard Marion and Don Sangster.
