Obituary for Danna Gayle Swearingen (Robison)

Danna G. Swearingen, 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in a local hospital. She was born on November 23, 1947 in Fort Smith to Jeff and Mary (McCracken) Robison. She was a retired Van Buren Elementary teacher and had taught in the Kibler school system, Sophia Meyer and J.J. Izard. Danna was a member of the NEA and AEA, a former den mother to Cub Scout Pack 10 and was raised in the Church of Christ.
Funeral services are 12:00pm, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home chapel with burial in the U.S. National Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Monday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ernest of the home; one son, Ernie Swearingen III of Fort Smith; a brother, Stephen Robison of Fort Smith; a brother in law, Eddie Swearingen and his wife Leacretia of Fort Smith; her best friends, Lisa Pendelton of Van Buren and Margurite Schmalz and June Lyons both of Fort Smith; two aunts, Betty Condren of Temecula, CA and Kay Davis of Huntsville, AL; five cousins, Leah Cunningham of Huntsville, AL, Becky Edwards and Joel Condren of Ocean Side, CA, Melissa Elder of Spiro,OK and Mark McLarty of Fayetteville, AR; nieces and nephews, Melissa McClure of Fort Smith, David Swearingen of Van Buren, Allen Swearingen of Fayetteville, Eli Robison of SC and Kelly Christian of AR and 8 great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are George Catsavis, Dr.Bill Ligon, Jeff Lyons, Allen, David and Eddie Swearingen.
