Obituary for Douglas Denver Yancey

Douglas Denver Yancey, 76, of Alma passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 in his home. He was owner and operator of Custom Parts Rebuilders since 1982. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served as an Alderman for the Kibler City Council for 35 years. He was a loving husband, daddy and Papa. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack Denver and Aron (Howell) Yancey; one sister Verna Greenlee.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Yancey of the home; four daughters, Mary Presley and husband, Joe, Laura Rompf and husband, Fred, Sarah Seegers and husband, Jon all of Van Buren, Tammy Albertson of Fort Smith; a sister, Debra Cobbs of Glenpool, Oklahoma; brother, Jerry Yancey of Guthrie, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Townsend, Don Evans, Jake Mullins, Bill Vickery, Jerry Hudson, Roger Green and Troy Fonville.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.
