Charles Kenneth Wright, 83, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 29, 2018 in his home in Fort Smith. He was born July 25, 1935 in Fort Smith, AR to Paul and Mamie (Futral) Wright. Charles was a retired owner and operator of several grocery stores in the area including, City Food Market in Barling and Charleston and Payless Foods in Fort Smith. He was of the Methodist Faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Joyce; one daughter, Leigh Ann Barker and her husband John of Fort Smith; one son, Scott Wright and his wife Jennifer of Bentonville; one sister, Paula Beasley of Gulf Port, MS; one brother, Ron Dee Wright and his wife Katie of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Shane and Nick Barker, Cameron and Collin Wright and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sydney and Isabel Barker.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith with private burial in Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith. The family will visit with friends beginning one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be John, Shane and Nick Barker, Collin, Jamie and Alan Wright.
