Obituary for Mary Ruth Ellen Satterfield (Lusk)
Mary Ruth Ellen Satterfield, 78 of Pocola, Oklahoma, passed away Friday December 28th in Fort Smith, Arkansas while surrounded by her family. She was born in Arkoma, OK on July 9th, 1940 to Andy and Allie (Phillips) Lusk. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Satterfield Jr., her parents, her step-father, Paul Cox, her sister, Goldie Lusk and grandchildren, Lisha Satterfield, Chris Satterfield and Stuart Jeremiah.
Mary enjoyed crocheting, thrift store shopping, paperback reading, westerns, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was retired from Southwest Die Casting and was a homemaker who cared endlessly for her family. Mary always seemed to have grandchildren and great-grandchildren in her home to rock, feed and spoil. She loved babies.
Mary is survived by one son, Jackie Lee Satterfield of Pocola, OK; two daughters, Rose Marie Perkins and husband Charles of Bonanza, AR and Trudy Ann Rhodes and husband David of Hackett, AR; three brothers, Andy Lusk of Nicut, OK, Johnny Hendricks of Muldrow, OK and Richard (Buddy) Hendricks of Roland, OK; five grandchildren, Chrystal Satterfield, Amanda Allen, Tiffany Chumley, Todd Schwietzer, and Scott Schwietzer; nine great-grandchildren, Lane Jeremiah, Olivia Satterfield, Isabella Sanchez, Neveah Sanchez, Logan Chumley, Bre Schwietzer, Katie Schwietzer, Cy Allen, and Skyla Frady; one great-great-grandchild, Aimee McLeod.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday January 3, 2019 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Reverend Justin Allen will conduct the service.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home.
