Vernon Eugene Stevens, 75 of Van Buren passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 in a local nursing home. He was retired from the Van Buren Water Department. He attended Peaceful Home Church in Natural Dam and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Isabelle (Reeves) Stevens; four sisters Elsie Cline, Elizabeth Whited, Marie Gartrell and Nancy Adkins; one brother David Stevens and one daughter Rita Elsworth.

Funeral service will be 11AM, Thursday December 13, 2018 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years Letha Stevens of the home; two daughters Maria Dye and Bobbie Johnson and husband Jason all of Van Buren; one son John V. Stevens of Van Buren; one sister Georgia Langley of Cedarville; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Dye, Matthew Holthusen, Tommy Cline, Jackie Adkins, Darren Langley, and Johnny Gartrell.

Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Gartrell and Jason Johnson.
