Obituary for Jimmy S Bullington

On October 19, 2018, our beloved “Poppy”, Jimmy S. Bullington departed this life to be with the Lord. He was born September 18, 1933 in Barling, Arkansas to Joseph and Eva Bullington, where he remained a lifelong resident. Poppy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was a charter member of the Barling V.F.D., umpired baseball, played Santa and was a faithful member of Barling First Baptist Church. Jimmy worked for Forsgren, Inc., for 40 years, ultimately serving as General Superintendent. He loved fishing, hunting, the Razorbacks, bluegrass music, Turkey Track Bluegrass Park/Festival; but most of all his extended family.
Funeral services are 11:00AM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Barling. Private burial in the U.S. National Cemetery will be at a later date.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Geneva of the home; a daughter, Janet Bailey and her husband Dr. Mark Bailey of Fort Smith, AR; a grandson, Marcus Bailey of Stuttgart, AR; a granddaughter, Jordan Bailey Anglin and her husband Clint of Cave Springs, AR; two great grandchildren, Reese Ann and Ford Marcus Anglin and a son, Joe Bullington, and family.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Friday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Marcus Bailey, Clint Anglin, Randall and Roger Bullington, Eddie Abel and Dusty Lovett.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bill and Buck Lovett, L.D. Powell, Dr. Mark Bailey, Hardy Royal, Bo Brown, Dr. Sharon Little and Phillip Sanders.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Barling First Baptist Church 602 Church Street, Barling, and AR 72923.
