Obituary for Harold Lee Broadfoot

Harold Lee Broadfoot
Harold Lee Broadfoot, 90, born April 11, 1928. Hal passed into glory on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in Fort Smith, AR. He left this world the way he had lived his life—quietly, with dignity, and no fanfare. He served in the Air Force, and was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. But his greatest legacy was the faith and work ethic he instilled in his children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind his much beloved wife of nearly 68 years, Ann Broadfoot of the home; 4 adult children, Randy Broadfoot of AZ, Jeff Broadfoot and wife Paula Jo of Alma, Greg Broadfoot and wife Nancy of NE, Kristi Hay and husband Ian of TN; a sister, Kathy Hoge of IN; 12 grandchildren, Brooke Morse; Brannon, Barrett, Burke and Brea; Megan Smith, Jacob Forbes, Andrew, Alex and Libby; Callum and Aidan Hay (who preceded Hal into eternity); Great grandchildren, Miles and Mason Morse, Jonathon Forbes, Jericho Millsap and Dakota Rose Broadfoot.
Husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Brother, Grandpa, Great Grandpa. Whoever he was to each of us, he was a rock, a steady source of cheer and comfort. His greeting of “Hi, Doll!” will echo in the memories of our circle of women. He was unsparing in his love and concern. In his last days, he never complained, and he greeted the steady parade of people who came to visit with an unwavering smile, and an occasional wink, and some humorous comments. But, his primary concern was for the well-being of his cherished sweetheart, Ann, whom he adored with all his heart. On his last evening with us, as his light was dimming, he grasped her hand, pulled her to him and kissed her. A sweet parting gift. That we could all be loved, so long and so well.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 at the U. S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers will be Brannon Broadfoot, Barrett Broadfoot, Burke Broadfoot, Jacob Forbes, Andrew Broadfoot, Alex Broadfoot and Callum Hay.
The family will visit with friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2018 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
Farewell for now. Rest in the arms of the “Comforter”.
Until we meet again…
“For we live by faith, not by sight.”
