Obituary for Carole Perry (Perry)

Carole Perry (Perry)
Carole Perry, 84, formerly of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Carole was born to parents Lowell and Okla (Bradley) Perry in Fort Smith Arkansas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas, after also attending Ouachita Baptist University, and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She began her career as a ticket agent for Frontier Airlines, and eventually became the first female station manager for the airline. She lived in Dallas, Denver, Oakland, Indianapolis, and Great Falls, Montana. After Frontier closed operations, she worked for American Express, and spent her last working years at the Tulsa Philcrest Hills Tennis Club. She traveled extensively, including memorable trips to Italy, Costa Rica, and Mexico. She was active in the Baptist church, and loved politics. In 2013, family and friends began to notice troubling early signs of dementia. Her vibrant energy and active mind began to diminish until she had to retire, give up driving, and relinquish the management of her own affairs. She spent the last two years of her life in a memory care facility, where she no longer recognized loved ones, and lost the ability to speak or perform basic functions. Her family and friends watched helplessly as the light disappeared from her eyes, and were heartbroken that this once intelligent, outgoing, loving, and always impeccably dressed woman had been completely overtaken by this brutal disease. We remember Carole as the bright light that she was.
She is survived by her brother in law, Larry Chisum of Tulsa, Oklahoma and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation is under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
